FAQ

Overcharged legal Fees

First we’ll review your previous case. If we think you have been overcharged we’ll contact you to explain the process. Once you’ve signed up with JG Solicitors we’ll do all the hard work for you and there’s really not much for you to do. Customer service is really important to us and our team will strive to keep you updated every step of the way.

Every case is different and we’ll work to get your money back quickly as possible. Sometimes it takes a while but our quickest case saw a client get their money back in just six days!

Sometimes previous documents are needed and sometimes we can get you a refund without documents. It all depends on your own personal case so just get in touch and we’ll advise.

The important date is when you signed up with your solicitor. If you signed up with your solicitor prior to 1st April 2013 any deductions taken from your compensation won’t have been a success fee so unfortunately we can’t help. Sorry.

We will need to know the name of your former solicitor in order to take on your case. If you’re not sure then the best thing to do is check through old paperwork and emails to see if you can find any clues. You could also ask your bank who paid you the compensation.

Sorry but we can’t get this information for you. If you can’t remember then the best thing to do is check through old paperwork and emails to see if you can find any clues. You could also ask your bank who paid you the compensation.

We can help people living in England and Wales with a claim for overcharged legal fees.

Mis-Sold Pensions

There is absolutely nothing to lose by getting in touch with us. We understand that this is a confusing subject and you may not be clear about what has happened to you and if you are eligible. This is a no obligation call so if it turns out you don’t qualify for compensation then it doesn’t cost you a thing. Let us help you understand what has happened so that you can make an informed choice about what to do next.

You can claim up to £375,000 in compensation for a mis-sold pension. The amount you receive will depend on your individual case.

We will only charge you if your claim is successful, so if you cannot get any compensation for you then it won’t cost you anything. We aim to provide a “no win, no fee” service at the best price on the market. So if you can find a like-for-like service elsewhere for a better price, then tell us and we promise to beat it.

If the company who advised you to transfer your pension are no longer trading that is not a problem. Our team have specific expertise in this field and will take your case via the Financial Services Compensation Scheme route to ensure you are still compensated.

It is difficult to give a clear timescale as every case is different. Timescales will depend on whether the financial advisor or bank you used is still trading. Often claims will be settled within 6 weeks but if the company you used is no longer trading it can take longer- however most cases are still resolved in 3-6 months. You can be reassured however that we will do everything possible from our side to get you your compensation just as quickly as possible.

As long as you transferred your pension after 1988 we can check your case for you.

We can help people in any part of the United Kingdom with a mis-sold pension claim.

Usually we just need basic information about what happened with your pension. Often people have lost their paperwork when they come to us and usually we can progress the claim with only basic details. If you can tell us the name of the bank or financial advisor who reinvested your pension for you, we will do the rest. We will do all the hard work for you and aim to make the process as easy as possible for our clients.
